Peggie Calame

Peggie Calame

We lost our dear friend Peggie Calame suddenly on February 28th of this year.  A many of you know Peggie was very helpful during our recent reunions, donating her time and pieces of her wonderful custom jewelry as drawing prizes. She was exremely creative, musically talented and a barrel of laughs. Even with a life full of challenges, she continued to find the elusive silver lining which made her a true blessing to be with.

A  private memorial for family and invited friends was held on April 8th.

At the 50th reunion I was the lucky winner of Peggie's beautiful gold bracelet. I gave it to my daughter since she spent most of my senior year with me (before her birth) and it seemed the perfect gift. My condolences to Peggie's family and loved ones.

Peggie and I were best friends after she came to Milwaukie from California.  We hadn't seen each other after graduation until the 45th reunion.  We reconnected and she made me her jewelry apprentice.  I helped her with her jewelry during her busy season.  We met regularly and worked on jewelry, laughed and talked and shopped.  I miss her very much.
