Janine Jasper (Reynolds)

The following is provided by Janine's dear friend, Donna Dodson Anessi:

Date Deceased: March -2-2012
Age at Death: 64
Cause of Death: Cancer
Classmate City: Gifford Pinchot National forest
Classmate State: WA
Classmate Country: USA
Survived By: Husband-Ernie Reynolds, mother, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Her concerns about overpopulation led her to choose a child-free life. She also left 2 cats and 2 chickens behind.

"Janine and I lived across the street from one another from the time we were 5 years old until we left our homes as young adults. As children we played together in the woods near Johnson Creek. Her mom took us to swimming lessons together. As teens we would go on long walks. We also frequented The Chase, Teenage night club. Her parents made her attend Catholic school until she finally talked them into letting her go to MHS. We once drove to San Francisco in my MGA. She went off to Veterinary School and had her own practices in Hillsdale and more recently Beaverton. For some years she lived in Hood River and took up Wind Surfing and Cross Country Skiing. She met Ernie, the love of her life, there. They found their little paradise backing up to the forest, by a little creek. We spent our September birthdays together since we turned 60 and went to many beautiful waterfalls and rivers together. Since she retired, I visited her three or 4 times a year. She loved to cook. She had a bubbly, enthusiastic nature. Janine was very sensitive and did not care much for technology or materialism. She always seemed to be on a slightly higher plane than most of us. The last time I saw her in late October, we went to the site of the former Northwestern Lake to see the newly liberated White Salmon River. I fully expected many more years of adventures with her, but it did not work out. She is missed."

This is a wonderful tribute to Janine, Donna.  I wish I had known her in her adult life.  Kathie Barr Koellmann.
