Graduate of U of O, Bachelors in Mus. Ed. plus grad school at E.Ore. Univ. in La Grande. Had 4 children (3 girls, 1 boy), 1 granddaughter. Taught school in Washington and British Columbia, worked as clerk for Corps of Engineers for 4 years in The Dalles, Oregon and a medical office for 16 years. For the last 13 years, type medical transcriptions for 2 ENT doctors from home in The Dalles. From 2003-2010 was a paid keyboard player for accompanying St. Peter's Choir for Sunday masses and all holidays. My son Aaron (youngest at 39) has been a tax consultant/accountant for 14 years, living in The Dalles with his wife and 11-year old daughter, my youngest daughter Janelle, 40 has an Associates Degree from Col. Gorge Comm. College, a Bachelors from Marylhurst University, and earned 2 more Bachelor degrees from PSU.

My eldest daughter Meredith is a nurse after having received her Masters from Boston University and lives in Langley, Washington with twins, a girl and a boy, 4 yrs old. My second daughter is disabled and has lived with me for 8 years. She attended U of O and PCC. I've been taking care of her and my cat Goldie.

I remember that from the time I was a freshman I was piano accompanist, first two years for the B Choir and last two for the A Capella choir. I was in a 20-person ensemble the Pony Pipers for 2 years and enjoyed all the (seems like) almost 200 performances we did evenings around the community.

I also remember traveling by bus the last 2 summers of high school to Lake Tahoe Summer Music Camp with our band to learn classical and other types of music and perform them. I also sang in a trio with Bobbi Barker and Sue Kreitler and remember singing for a school Christmas program. I participated in the Operetta Brigadoon that many singers also became adept at dancing in, but I remember rehearsing the soloists their numbers with them with the piano before they tried it with the orchestra. Judy Welch and Merrilee Fields, one of the actresses, were outstanding piano accompanists, too.

I have a memory of beginning a 4th year of math my senior year, only to receive a request by my long-time high school choir director Gilbert Timothy to be piano accompanist for another singing group the same period as the advanced math course was, so I withdrew from the math class. I had received a 4-year honor roll pin and many times still found time to get straight A's occasionally, lucky enough not to get anything under a B. So I had to try to be very self-disciplined at home to fit things in as I tried so hard to keep up my good grades to go to college. Mr. Timothy drove me once to his Alma Mater U of O to introduce me to the profs at the Music School there, and I graduated with a music ed degree.
